SuperSilverShield® is used as an exterior protective coating on iron, steel, masonry and other surfaces. • Used as a decorative and protective coating over tar and bitumen-based finishes to protect them against ultraviolet degradation. • It is the recommended protective finish for bitumen-type waterproofing roof materials. • Also used for general steelwork for better heat reflectivity.
Advantages:
• Deflects UV rays and prevents degradation of membrane arising out of exposure to sunlight. • Highly reflective. • Goes on directly to surfaces without priming. • Bitumen content adds to water resistance of the coating.
Surface Preparation:
• Remove dust, flakes, oil, grease or other foreign particles by jet or dry air and clean the surface before applying SuperSilverShield®. • Undercoat is not necessary for its application ➢
Material Preparation:
• Undercoat is not necessary for its application. • As the aluminium pigment settles very easily SuperSilverShield® must it be stirred well before use with a flat paddle to an even consistency.
Application of Material:
• Apply SuperSilverShield® on the prepared surface by brush / roller / spray. • Apply 1 or 2 coats allowing overnight drying between coats. • SuperSilverShield® can be applied over old painted surfaces without burning off or scraping, provided the old surface is not in a flaky condition.
