Application instructionsSurface Preparation:The object of the surface preparation is to achieve a cleansound surface with a good mechanical key. All substratesshould be cleaned and free of dust, plaster, oil, paint, grease,corrosion deposits, and any other deleterious substances.Laitence should be removed by mechanical means. Smoothsubstrates must be mechanically roughened e.g. by scabbling,needle gun or grit blasting to provide an adequate key.Corroded reinforcing steel should be exposed around its fullcircumference and cleaned to remove all loose scale and corrosiondeposits. Description:
ShaliTex® Sealing Compound is bitumen based sealant for concrete joints resistant to high temperature variations providing waterproof sealing for all type of horizontal joints. It is conforming to IS 1834 – 1984, Grade A specification.

Application
• Runway Joints • Joints in garages, filling stations and other places of construction joints like in warehouse floors and secondary containment of walls and floors of artificial water ponds. • Bridge / road joints.

Advantages:
• Ability to withstand expansion without cracking • Good adhesion to concrete / other surface. • Low susceptibility to flow during hot weather condition. • Resistant to sunlight / rain and cyclic temperature changes. • Anti-corrosive and prevents root growth. • Resistant to ingress of foreign substance.

Application Methodology
• Remove dust, flakes, oil, grease or other foreign particles by jet or dry air and clean the surface to make it smooth before applying ShaliTex Sealing Compound. • Spray or brush, on the area where ShaliTex Sealing Compound is to be applied, ShaliTex Primer evenly throughout the joints and allow it to dry completely. 24 hours is enough to dry the primer during normal weather condition. • Cover the joint by plastic film if rain is expected after primer application. • Cut ShaliTex Sealing Compound drum and heat it to 180 – 210 OC while slowly stirring the material for uniformity. A 20 kg drum will take 2-3 hr at 190 – 200 OC for complete melting using hand stirrer. Do not overheat as this may cause frothing. If for any reason bubble appears during melting, keep the temperature around 180 O C for a longer time with slow manual stirring till the bubble disappears. • Upon primer drying completely, pour molten ShaliTex Sealing Compound from one side of the joint allowing it to travel through the joint as much as practicable. While pouring, ensure that temperature of material is in the range of 190 - 200 OC. • During the pouring process, to avoid spillage, place wooden boards on both sides of joint and pour from can with extended spout.

SikaShield® P24 MG IN 3 mm is an APP modified bituminous waterproofing membrane with a thickness of 3 mm. It is reinforced with a non-woven polyester fabric and is flexible at -2 °C. The top surface is coated with mineral granules, which allows the permanent exposure to UV radiation. The underside of the product has a burn-off film for easy torch-application.

USES:

Uses:
For spraying on freshly cast concrete, or newly exposed concrete surfaces after removal of form work, to form a temporary membrane which will retain suffi cient moisture for eff ective curing to take place. Used for concreting generally but especially useful for large areas of concrete such as pavements, runways and bridge decks; also for vertical or sloping surfaces as on towers, chimneys, canal linings, columns and beams, where water curing is diffi cult or unreliable. The curing compound is used for the curing of Dry Lean Concrete.

Description :
Concure WB Std is a white, low viscosity wax emulsion which incorporates a special alkali reactive emulsion breaking system. This system ensures that the emulsion breaks down to form a non penetrating continuous fi lm immediately upon contact with a cementitious surface. This impervious fi lm prevents excessive water evaporation which in turn permits more effi cient cement hydration, thus reducing shrinkage and increasing durability. Once formed, the membrane will remain on the concrete surface until eventually broken down and eroded by natural weathering. Where it is required to apply a further treatment to such concrete surface, it may be necessary to remove the membrane remaining after curing by wire brushing or other mechanical means. The use of curing membranes on internal floor slabs is generally to be avoided where additional surface fi nishes are to be applied. Concure WB Std is however ideal where the concrete surface of a fl oor slab is to be left as ‘fi nished’.

 Dr. Fixit Torchshield Primer is a solvent based bitumen modified primer conforming to ASTM D/41, to be used to seal and prepare the substrate prior to the installation of the Dr. Fixit Torchshield torch-on and Dr. Fixit Samshield, self adhesive membranes. In addition to that, it also acts as a binder for the dust particles which gets accumulated on the concrete surface even after cleaning.

Typical Applications:

Ensure that the surface to be primed is dry and free from dust, oil, paint, curing compounds and any other contaminating materials. Stir contents well before use. Apply by brush, roller. Dr. Fixit Torchshield Primer must be dry before applying membrane.

Theoretical Coverage:

4-6 sqm /lt/coat. However, the coverage will depend on the porosity of the substrate. In order to ascertain the exact coverage, a trial application should be carried out on site. Packaging 20 ltr.

Limitation:

 Dr. Fixit Torchshield Primer should be used with appropriate mask and breathing apparatus in areas with poor ventilation/air flow.

Shelf Life:
Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacturing if stored in original and unopened packaging in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight.
